This ecological Reserve over 150 hectares declared and recognized by the National Committee of Protected Areas makes up a sanctuary dedicated to the Universe, Nature and man. |

There are 21 microclimates in the cloudy wood in Guatemala, being this region considered the less impacted. Ram Tzul Ecological Reserve has mountains of primary vegetation still virgen and others in process of natural regeneration by means of reforestation. Through
these paradisiac mountainsthe Cafetal River, runs which is an affluent
of the Polochic. It forms puddles and natural waterfalls up to 80
metres downfall. |

Owing to be situated in the transition of two climates, waterfalls contrasting with their different landscapes and the diverse vegetation which surrounds them, can be seen, a few metres from there. One of them has a subtropical vegetation and the other is in a wood of conifers and ferns, 500 metres one from the other. Besides, we want to point out that this natural wood, the only one with cypresses, is very important for the passing of migratory birds. |
